Stimulus Update: Which State Is Sending $1,050 Stimulus Check?
Many states across the country are trying to support the regional economy and provide residents with relief from rising inflation with stimulus payments or tax rebates.
California is providing residents with one-time inflation relief checks this fall: Based on household size, their income, and tax-filing status, eligible families may receive a one-time payment of up to $1,050. The Middle Class Tax Refund is expected to assist millions of Californians.
Who Is Eligible for The One-Time Payment?
Those who have lived in California for at least six months in 2020 and have submitted 2020 state tax by October 15, 2021, can qualify for the payment.
You must be a resident of California on the date your payment is issued, and you cannot have been claimed as a dependent on another person's return for the 2020 tax year.
Couples filing jointly who made less than $150,000 and single taxpayers who made less than $75,000 will each receive $350, plus an additional fixed amount of $350 if they have any dependents. Accordingly, a married couple with kids may get as much as $1,050.
Couples earning between $150,000 and $250,000 and single filers making between $75,000 and $125,000 will each receive $250, with an additional $250 if they have any dependents. A household with children may receive $750.
Couples filing jointly and individuals filing separately who made between $125,000 and $250,000 would each receive $200. A family with a child in this category might get up to $600.
However single taxpayers who made more than $250,000 and married couples who made more than a combined $500,000 in 2020 are not eligible.
